When the engine is turned off, the reservoir will collect all coolant that typically spills from high-performance or high-temperature engines. Then, when the engine cools down, the coolant is sent back to the radiator.
Note:
If the vehicle has experienced an accident, the mounting hole may only come off by one inch. There is a simple solution. Install the bottle and only install the bolts on the aligned holes. Then use a “center punch” to mark one or more holes to be drilled. Place the center punch into the hole on the metal U-clamp, then tap the punch and mark the position to be drilled. After marking the position, remove the bottle. Then drill with a 1/4 inch drill bit. The bottles will now be arranged correctly.
